Make 2010 Your Year
5 ways to come into the new year swinging!

Sucessful Person

There’s nothing better than starting the new year with a clean slate!  Here are five ways to a new you and a new year!

1.  Put Pen to Paper- *Write down your goals for the new year and put them somewhere visible.  I use a whiteboard but a sticky note will do.  Look at your goals on a daily basis and stick to them.  Remember to make them attainable but not easy.

*Interesting Fact: A popular Harvard Business School study once found that only 3% of the population records their goals in writing. Another 14% have goals but don’t write them down, whereas 83% do not even have clearly defined goals. More interesting is that this 3% earned an astounding ten times that of the 83% group!

2.  Change of Pace- Try switching up your routine.  Take up a new hobby or a new workout routine.  With that being said be more active.  Trying new activities and taking on a new hobby stimulates the mind and helps keep you focused.  So take a different route home, try a new food, learn a new language.  Mix it up a bit.

3.  Get a Raise- Some of your dreams will never be actualized without the proper amount of income.  Put the wheels in motion to approach your boss for a raise.  Be prepared to prove your worth with milestones at your company.  If you’re in salesperson or a business owner try and top your highest sales.  Afterall, you deserve it.

4.  Upgrade Your Look- Let’s face it, if you haven’t been shopping for clothing in the past two years it’s due time.  Upgrading your woredrobe will give you a huge confidence boost.  The better you look the better you feel about yourself and the more people will want to work with you, befriend you and look up to you.  Try a new haircut and don’t be afraid to try some new looks.  Stay away from trendy looks but look to quality peiecs that you can wear mulitple ways.

5.  Get The Monkey Off Your Back- Personal relationships bringing you down, debt, taxes, messy home or unfinished projects…time to tackle them all.  Yes, we will always have problems but there’s no reason for a monkey on your back.  Get the monkey off and start to live your life.  Breakdown all of your monkeys on a piece of paper and tackle them one by on, it’s easier then you think.  Anything you can’t do, delegate.  In the long run you will be much happier and will move forward toward a new you!

Real Estate Outlook 2010

What’s on the mind of every home buyer and home owner is what is the real estate outlook for 2010?  Well, the good news is things are getting back to normal.  Although numbers are down in some locations.  There is a positive sign that we have hit the bottom and are on our way back to the top.  Click here to review an animated chart of how your neighborhood looks.

Now that the holidays are over Sellers are putting homes on the market and Buyers are taking advantage of the tax credit.  There still is a surplus of foreclosures and short sales but according to a recent comment by D Magazine Coorespondant, Candy Davis, the good news is “investors are coming back into the market, buying up foreclosures on the courthouse steps to re-sell or rent.”

This means that there are investors out there to soak up the inventory.  Although, this is good some experts feel real estate will never be the same and it may “return to the 1960’s when fewer Americans owned homes.” (D Magazine, Candy Evans) which is much better than when loans were being given out to anyone with a pulse.

Gone forever are the days of flipping and zero down payments but the outlook is positive, especially for Texans.  The Texas job market is still heatlthy with more created every day and the real estate is very affordable.  Now is a great time to buy and if you already own a great time to buy an investment with interest rates and prices at all time lows.
